Various restaurants across Delhi-NCR are ready with revamped menus to cater to the appetite of food patrons during the the nine-day Navratri festival. Hotels and restaurants have redesigned menus to cater to people who would be following a strict food regimen, which includes avoiding onion, garlic, rice, wheat, meat, iodised salt and alcohol.

All humans have their own unique human leukocyte antigen (HLA) complex, which helps the immune system differentiate between its own cells and those of unwanted viruses and bacteria. But they also can be hugely influential when it comes to attraction. The researchers studied attraction patterns in 254 couples and found that having two very different HLA complexes “correlates with sexuality and enhances the desire to procreate.” That means your genes determine how badly you want to get it on with your partner. With the launch of the ‘premium’ Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus priced at $390 (around Rs 22,000), it also launched the Mi 5s at Rs 19,000, the Chinese company, once known just for its cheap but specifications and feature rich smartphones, has challenged Apple and even targetted its latest handset the iPhone 7, which was launched recently. Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has warned of “disastrous consequences” from a United States law allowing 9/11 victims to sue the kingdom, in a major spike in tension between the longstanding allies.

The warning came yesterday after the US Congress voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to override President Barack Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) on relations between states. (more…)

India’s hottest consumer goods company, Patanjali Ayurved, is facing a logistical problem.

Buoyed by demand, the Rs5,000-crore ($751 million) company is now experiencing a supply lag at some of its outlets, as lower retail margins and obscure locations make it hard to keep these stores well-stocked.

Promoted by yoga guru Ramdev, Patanjali has launched some 400 stock-keeping units or SKU’s in the past decade ranging from biscuits, oil, soaps, shampoos, flour, juices, noodles and toothpaste. It has even set up dedicated stores to sell them. (more…)

The RBI said on Thursday lenders can publish photographs of only those borrowers in newspapers who have been declared wilful defaulters as per the central bank’s guidelines.

While asking the banks not to indiscriminately publish photographs of defaulters and guarantors in newspapers, it directed the lending institutions to formulate a policy in this regard.

The policy should clearly sets out the criteria based on which the decision to publish the photographs of a person will be taken by them so that the approach is neither discriminatory nor inconsistent. (more…)
