Up front, the lip on the bumper is painted in black instead of the conventional silver colour. There is also a small red embellishment on the black honeycomb mesh grille to go with the theme.
The prominent black decal on the hood carries over the flow to the roof of the car. It ends in an integrated roof spoiler also painted in black.
The black stickering continues on the tail gate and on the sides of the hatchback. This is further accentuated by the same 13-inch rims with wheel covers, but this time, finished in black and red.
The Sport version is based on the top-of-the-line T version of the Redigo. So it gets all the features including rear parking sensors and central locking feature with a remote key.
The sporty-themed Redigo’s cabin also gets some red accents on the air vents and steering wheel. The black seat fabric sports a red stitch accent to go with the theme.
The add-ons do make the Redigo stand out from the competition. The new version should appeal to buyers looking for a sporty entry-level hatchback.
The Redigo Sport comes powered by the same 799cc three-cylinder engine (54bhp, 72Nm). It comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, sending power to the front wheels.
The new Redigo Sport is priced at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is now on sale in the Indian market.
The Redigo sport variant is available in three body colours- grey, white and ruby. It is being offered through all 227 Datsun dealerships across India.
Female wrestler Sakshi Malik was recently honoured for her achievement at the Rio Olympic Games with a brand new Redigo Sport. She is now the face of Datsun’s ad campaigns.
