Audi A4 diesel
The massively popular executive sedan from German luxury and sportscar manufacturer Audi, the A4, had received a major overhaul and was launched in India very recently. However, if you want one, your only choice of power will be a petrol engine. In the coming months though, Audi is expected to provide the prospective buyers of its A4 a diesel option in the form of a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder, 174 bhp, turbocharged diesel engine as well. The same 8 speed automatic will handle transmission.
Honda Accord Hybrid
One of the more anticipated launches this year is the new Honda Accord. This car will be re-entering the Indian automotive space after quite a sizeable hiatus and Honda will be putting it on sale in both regular petrol and hybrid versions. The hybrid variant will get a 2.0 litre petrol engine and an electric motor powered by a high voltage lithium-ion battery pack that together produce 193 bhp. It will be imported into India as a CBU.
Volvo S90
High end luxury cars have taken off in India in the past few years in a manner that no one ever expected. Keen to cash in on this massive boom, Volvo will be bringing their latest creation, the flagship S90 sedan, to India in the coming months. Powered by a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine that develops 246 bhp, the S90 will take the idea of Swedish design, comfort and safety to new heights when launched in India. If you are interested, you can walk into any Volvo dealership across the country and book an S90 right away.
Tata Kite 5
The Kite 5 is the latest compact sedan developed by Tata Motors. The vehicle was shown to us in an almost production-ready guise at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo held earlier this year. This sub 4 metre sedan is expected to be powered by the same 1.2 litre Revotron petrol and 1.05 litre Revotorq diesel engines that we are familiar with, albeit with a slightly higher power output. The vehicle will be positioned above the Tiago hatchback and below the Zest.
Volkswagen Ameo diesel
The Volkswagen Ameo has been on sale in India for a few months now but, it can only be bought as a petrol model. In the very near future, VW will be providing the additional option of a 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine for this car. This engine will deliver 105 bhp and customers can choose between a 5 speed manual and a 7 speed, dual clutch automatic gearbox for this car. This makes the Ameo the only car in its class to be available with a double clutch transmission.
